The mission of the Ashwaubenon Family Resource Centers is...
To encourage and support collaborative and cooperative efforts that will build quality early childhood resources within the community that strengthen and empower families, enhance the capacity of parents, and foster optimal development of children.
The main Family Resource Center is located at Pioneer School and houses the APPL (Ashwaubenon Preschool & Parent Learning) program.

APPL - ASHWAUBENON PRESCHOOL & PARENT LEARNING PROGRAM
Age Requirement
The program curriculum is based on the preschool age child, however ages range from babies to five year-olds. Children 24 months and older will participate in the classroom activities under the direction of preschool teachers. Children 24 months and younger are welcome to stay with their parent.
Registration
Registration is held in April for Summer school and May for Fall Programming. Registration also continues throughout the school year. Registration forms are available by emailing the Resource Center Coordinator click here or calling 492-2925 ext 6139. Class size is limited by child/teacher ratio. Participants enrolled in the program have priority to continue in the succeeding sessions during the school year. Waiting lists are kept to fill future openings.
Schedule
10-week sessions run three times per year, starting in Fall, Winter and Spring. A 10 week Fall Evening class as well as a 4-week Summer session are also offered. Participants choose to attend one two-hour class per week. The classes are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 9a.m.-11a.m. The evening class time runs 5:30 -7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings. Each class consists of three parts - Parent/Child Interaction, Preschool for Children and, Parent Discussion.
SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRAMS
Parent's Day Out
Parents are invited to drop off their child for a preschool program on selected Fridays from 8:30am - 11:30am. The parents do not stay. An Early Childhood teacher plans fun-filled educational activities. Each parent is expected to volunteer as the teacher helper for one session. The volunteer parent is then given a coupon for a free visit. You must call to reserve a spot prior to dropping off your child. Click Here for a schedule of future Parents Day Outs.
Dad's Night Out & The Grand Event for Grandparents
Dad's Night Out are special nights for dads (or any significant male in a child's life) to attend and involve themselves in fun activities related to a theme. Past evenings have included Halloween Fun, Beach Party and the most popular, Mother's Day Gift Making. The Grand Event is the same thing except for Grandparents.
Little Hands - Big Hearts Family Volunteer Program
The impact of helping others leaves a lasting impression in the mind of a young child. Show your child the importance of volunteering by participating in this program. A committee will be formed to decide which events to volunteer for. Past years have included nursing home visits, food drives and holiday bell ringing.
