The PRIDE Recognition Program
Students are more likely to follow expectations when those expectations have been explicitly taught and when appropriate behavior is consistently recognized. With the kickoff held each Fall and booster lessons taught throughout the year, we have ensured that all students know and have practiced expected behaviors in all areas of the school. The other way to ensure success is to provide consistent recognition. We do this with our PRIDE recognition tickets.
- All staff members are encouraged to carry PRIDE tickets with them at all times throughout the building.
- When staff members come across any student who they recognize is following our Jaguar Way expectations, the staff member should recognize this student by giving him/her a PRIDE ticket and making a brief statement thanking him/her for showing Pioneer PRIDE (i.e. “Walking at voice level 0 in the hallway- that’s the jaguar way!”)
- It is then the student’s responsibility to write his or her own name (preferably in ink) on the ticket and follow their classroom procedure for redeeming the ticket.
What happens with the PRIDE tickets ("Jag Tags")?
- A student is drawn each day from the classroom tickets and earns a prize.
- On Fridays a student from each grade level will be drawn from grade level tickets to earn a prize.
- On Mondays a school wide drawing happens during morning announcements to determine who earns "Jag" the Pioneer Jaguar for the entire week.
- Earn 50 tickets and you become a member of the Green Club
- You receive a certificate and trinket
- Get a Gold Club card to start round 2 of ticket tallying
- Earn 50 additional tickets to get a Gold Club certificate and t-shirt
